ABM, a provider of facility solutions, continues to honor its commitment to the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Foundation’s Global Workforce Initiative (GWI) by providing facility management students in Texas the opportunity to tour a client site.

The GWI enables students who are studying facility management to interact with current professionals and gain real-world exposure to their future careers. ABM will be facilitating a tour for a select group of students at River Oaks District in Houston, Texas, an ABM client site. River Oaks District, designed and developed by Oliver McMillan, LLC, is a 22-acre mixed-use complex that includes high-end retail shops, restaurants, office space, residences and entertainment options. Tour participants will hear from representatives from both ABM and OliverMcMillan, see public-facing and back-of-house operations, and enjoy a lunch on the grounds.

“ABM is committed to attracting and developing young facility management talent,” says Tony Piucci, Senior Vice President of Enterprise Solutions at ABM. “Working with the IFMA Foundation is just one way that we’re contributing to elevating the profession and addressing the growing shortage of facility management talent. We appreciate our client for enabling students to have this unique glimpse into the day-to-day work of a facility manager.”

“OliverMcMillan and River Oaks District value our partnership with ABM, which provides various services throughout the center including landscaping, facility engineering, and valet parking,” says Jennifer Rivera, Marketing Manager at River Oaks District. “They provide great service at the highest quality level, which our customers and visitors expect.”

The IFMA Foundation promotes education for the facility management profession and seeks to make facility management a career of choice. The GWI aims to fill the growing facility management workforce talent gap as more than half of today’s practitioners are expected to retire in the next five to 15 years.

ABM provides River Oaks District with an Integrated Facility Solution, which includes facility engineering, landscaping, and “make-ready” cleaning of residential apartments. ABM’s Integrated Facility Solutions offer clients:
 • a comprehensive solution customized to their facility service needs;
 • greater accountability and economies of scale than they would be able to achieve through engagement with an array of service providers; and
 • a single point of contact through whom they can manage all services provided.
