The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) to support collaboration, education, training, and information sharing.
“ACG is very excited to announce this partnership with the International Facility Management Association,” said ACG President Troy Byers, P.E., CxA, of Cx Solutions, LLC. “We believe that combining our resources can better drive both our missions to support facility management professionals by providing them with technical guidelines and training and education about the commissioning process.”
This partnership underscores the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal functionality of the built environment. IFMA and ACG share a commitment to promoting industry standards and best practices through best-in-class training and industry-leading certification. Together, we can ensure that those entrusted with the safety, efficiency and performance of our buildings are both highly qualified and well-versed in every phase of a building's life cycle. We look forward to exchanging resources, education and networking opportunities for the benefit of our respective members," said IFMA President and CEO Michael V. Geary, CAE.
As part of the agreement, IFMA members will receive discounted access to CxEnergy 2025 (Apr. 28-May 1, 2025, Charlotte), the premier conference and expo in commissioning, energy management, & building technology. Facility managers are also eligible to receive a free copy of the ACG Building Systems Commissioning Guideline, ACG’s newly expanded resource presenting best practices for commissioning different types of building systems.
In turn, IFMA will offer discounted access to IFMA Professional Development courses for ACG members. IFMA will also make relevant resources and presentation opportunities available to ACG, including abstract submissions for IFMA conferences and content submissions for channels such as IFMA’s Knowledge Library and newsletters.
Being a part of a larger alliance – the Authorities in Building Performance – ACG offers IFMA members relationship-building opportunities with members of the Energy Management Association (EMA) and the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC). This network comprises over 600 member companies and 2,500 certified professionals in the testing, adjusting, and balancing, commissioning, and energy management industries.
