The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) will join Members of Congress today to assemble hygiene kits as part of Clean the World’s ONE Project to benefit homeless and at-risk veterans and a shelter for women and children.

Clean the World collects and recycles discarded soaps, shampoos, conditioners and other hygiene products from more than 2100 participating hotels and hospitality partners. The organization distributes these hygiene products those in need throughout the United States and in developing countries.

ACI President and CEO Ernie Rosenberg will join event cosponsors, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Senator Dean Heller (R-NV), at the Clean the World Hill Hygiene Kit Initiative September 17 at the U.S. Capitol. The assembled hygiene kits will be donated to the national veterans’ organization US VETS, and a Las Vegas-based women and children’s shelter, The Shade Tree.

“Very simply put, handwashing with soap saves lives,” said Rosenberg. “Too often, we take for granted the importance of having every-day access to basic hygiene products.”

“The American Cleaning Institute is a proud supporter of Clean the World and its efforts to get hygiene products to those in need.”

ACI is one of several cosponsors for the Clean the World Hill Hygiene Kit Initiative. During the past two ACI Industry Conventions, ACI and its member companies assembled more than 5,200 hygiene kits for Clean the World.
