The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) is on the shortlist for the Best Sustainability Report as recognized by Ethical Corporation’s Responsible Business Awards 2016. This international competition is recognized as “the world’s leading Awards for CSR, sustainability, supply chain and business executives.”
ACI’s third public Sustainability Report, Understanding Today, Impacting Tomorrow, showcases the cleaning products industry’s progress toward sustainable development and unveils ACI’s first-ever industry materiality assessment, which maps the critical risks and opportunities facing its value chain.
“The materiality assessment identifies and characterizes those issues that are most material across ACI’s membership and to a number of external stakeholder organizations,” said Melissa Grande, ACI Senior Manager, Sustainability Initiatives. “Companies committed to sustainability have increasingly informed their strategies and reporting by conducting such analyses, but the American Cleaning Institute assessment is among the first across the value chain of an entire industry sector.”
ACI’s 2015 Sustainability Report has also been named a finalist in the Annual Report and Publication categories in Ragan’s Nonprofit PR Awards.
“The ACI Sustainability Report shines the spotlight on the sustainability contributions of our member companies and the cleaning product supply chain at-large,” said Brian Sansoni, ACI Vice President, Sustainability Initiatives. “ACI is honored to be recognized on Ethical Corporation’s shortlist for Best Sustainability Report and as finalists in two Nonprofit PR Awards categories.”
Among the awards recognition the ACI Report has already received:
• Honorable Mentions in PR Daily’s 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards in two categories: Best Publication (Print or Electronic) and Best Report (Annual or One-Time);
• Honorable Mention at the 2016 PR News NonProfit PR Awards in the category of External Publication or Report
• A Gold winner in both the Annual Report and Corporate Social Responsibility categories from the Hermes Creative Awards
• A Gold Recognition in the 2014/15 Vision Awards from the League of American Communications Professionals in the Sustainability - Governments/Non-Profits Category
• An Apex Award of Excellence in the Electronic Media – Green Category.
ACI’s Sustainability Report also highlights data from the association’s Sustainability Metrics Program, which aggregates key environmental data from participating member companies; and features a summary of ACI social and environmental sustainability programs, as well as details on ACI scientific and research programs.
