AFFLINK, a sales and marketing organization in the professional cleaning, healthcare, packaging, food service, and office supply industries, says its recent charity golf even raised $100,000.
The event marks the fourth year in which AFFLINK put on a golf tournament to raise funds for City of Hope. Held at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, this year’s participants raised over $100,000 that will ultimately contribute to advancing treatments for life-threatening diseases such as cancer and diabetes.
City of Hope began a century ago as a response to the tuberculosis epidemic. Los Angeles Garment workers raised $100 to buy land in Duarte, California — where City of Hope’s main campus continues to thrive. Tents were donated, and healthcare workers volunteered their time to help treat and comfort people suffering from tuberculosis.
Today, over 100 million patients around the globe benefit each year from City of Hope breakthroughs.
