Members of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) have elected a new president-elect and new members of the ASHE Board of Directors.
Philip C. Stephens, MBA, CPE, CHFM, FASHE, was elected as the new president-elect. Stephens will serve as president-elect in 2013 and will assume the role of ASHE president in 2014. Stephens, FMG Senior Specialist at Carolina Health Systems in Charlotte, N.C., has 40 years of experience in health care facility management and has been responsible for large construction and renovation projects.
Stephens will succeed Mark A. Kenneday, CHFM, FASHE, who will assume the presidency from current ASHE president Jeffrey L. Arthurs, CHFM, CHSP, FASHE, on Jan. 1, 2013.
ASHE members also elected several members of the Board of Directors, including an associate member (the first associate member to be elected since a bylaws change created two associate positions in 2011) and several regional directors. ASHE congratulations the winners:
Associate Board Member: Susan B. McLaughlin, MBA, CHSP, FASHE, CHFM
Region 1 Board Member: David A. Dagenais, BS, CHSP, CHFM, FASHE
Region 2 Board Member: Anthony J. Salvatore, III, CHFM
Region 4 Board Member: Andrew TenBrink, MBA, CHFM
Region 5 Board Member: Thomas L. Stewart, MBA, SASHE, CHFM, CHC
Region 9 Board Member: Ken Gomes, CHFM, MBA
The associate member and regional directors elected in 2012 will serve a two-year term from Jan. 1 2013, through Dec. 31, 2014. A second associate member and regional directors from other ASHE regions will be chosen in 2013 elections.
