Process of coronavirus testing examination at home, COVID-19 swab collection kit, test tube for taking OP NP patient specimen sample, testing carried out, patient receiving a corona test

Schools and child care facilities looking to improve their chances at preventing or minimizing a COVID-19 outbreak have an additional resource in Colorado. As announced by the Colorado Department of Public Health (CPDHE), over-the counter (OTC) rapid test kits are being made available to caretakers, guardians and parents, free of charge.

The program provides OTC test kits through Abbott BinaxNOW, which provide rapid tests and results within 15 minutes. The program, which is also available for those that aren’t caretakers, guardians or parents, is available for enrollment here, along with an option to order tests for organizations.

Once processed, applicants can expect eight free kits with instructions on how to interpret/report test results. Organizations looking to order more than one order will need to do so manually, as monthly automatic shipments are not available.
