The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has opened public review for the revised draft BSR/IICRC S500 Standard for Professional Water Damage Restoration. The draft S500 Standard is available for review from now until Feb. 24.
The IICRC S500 Standard provides a specific set of practical standards for water damage restoration. It does not attempt to teach comprehensive water damage restoration procedures. Instead, it provides the foundation for basic principles of proper restoration practices. BSR/IICRC S500 does not attempt to include exhaustive performance characteristics or standards for the manufacture or installation of structural components, materials and contents.
The IICRC S500 draft Standard is available for review and comment as part of the ANSI 45-day public review period. Download the revised draft Standard and submit comments online at https://www.iicrc.org/page/SANSIIICRCS500. All comments must be submitted using the online comment form.
