The partnership between Bee-Clean Building Maintenance and Iowa-based commercial cleaning service provider Heritage Building Maintenance has been generative for both parties since last fall’s acquisition.
“It’s a great partnership,” says Greg Theroux, Heritage’s founder and president. “The goal is to be able to help Bee-Clean expand into the United States and to expand our platform as well.”
Heritage has plans to branch out both organically and through an acquisition platform, Theroux says.
He believes the partnership will bring new opportunities to the Heritage team, while carrying on the company’s legacy under its existing name, staffing structures and values – values that are in line with those of Bee-Clean.
“We were very much focused on the culture of the company, and how they care very much about their customers, and equally importantly, their people,” says Philippe D. Mack, chief executive officer of Heritage and former Senior Vice President of Customer Experience and USA Expansion at Bee-Clean.
Mack notes that Theroux has continued to deliver value to his team at Heritage and to Bee-Clean in the months since the acquisition, creating a “gentle” integration. Heritage retained all employees and clients throughout the transition.
Mack, who still works with Bee-Clean in the area of USA expansion, anticipates Bee-Clean will augment Heritage’s operations, proving insight in areas where the U.S.-based company has identified areas for growth, such as IT infrastructure.
“Every day we are continuously learning what’s made this company what it is today, we want to nurture this atmosphere and acquire the readiness to do different and bigger things together,” says Mack.
Tapping into Bee-Clean’s expertise in serving a broad range of clients is also top of mind for Heritage. Heritage recently secured a contract with its first aviation account, the Des Moines International Airport. As a leading service provider in Canada’s aviation industry, Bee-Clean’s team supported Heritage through the proposal development process with advice on best practices.
“That’s a significant win for us,” says Mack. “To add that (client) to our portfolio was huge,” Theroux adds. “It speaks volumes to the team that worked on it.”
And the sharing of industry knowledge goes both ways. Heritage services a variety of medical clients — a market Bee-Clean wishes to expand on.
