The Healthy Facilities Institute announced that Mike Nalley, senior manager of education and training at Best Western International (BWI), has been added to its advisory board.
With almost 30 years of experience in the hospitality field, Nalley oversees a staff of trainers who travel across North America and abroad to help BWI-member property owners, managers and line staff operate and market their hotels effectively, including training on customer service. He leads BWI's customer service program, which features leading-edge housekeeping measures such as the use of Ultraviolet sanitation wands, clean remotes, and other interventions. Nalley has also helped to develop healthful housekeeping practices and training in connection with the Ohio-based nonprofit IEHA (formerly the International Executive Housekeepers Association).
Nalley has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, a Master of Arts in organizational management, and is pursuing a doctorate in business management. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) and Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) through the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), and is an accredited certification instructor through AH&LA’s Educational Institute, and a member of AH&LA’s certification commission and training, education advisory commission.
