One of the principal art institutions in the United States contains more than 30,000 pieces dating from antiquity to the present, including works from Monet, Picasso, Van Gogh and Matisse.

As with most public facilities, the museum was challenged with limited amounts of time between daily carpet cleaning cycles and opening to the public — timeframes that often failed to allow for proper carpet maintenance using conventional carpet extractors.

In addition, there were concerns about introducing humidity into the museum environment due to the sensitive nature of the antiquities.

Interim carpet cleaning methods were tried but caused “feathering” so that soils from dirty traffic lanes spread to the formerly cleaner surrounding areas.

The museum’s solution: the Cascade 20 from CFR. The Cascade 20 leaves carpets as much as 50 percent dryer immediately after cleaning. The quicker drying times drove the museum’s decision to purchase.
