Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, was spending nearly $57,000 on paper towels annually, not including the cost of maintenance and waste removal.
Red Sox Manager of Facility Planning and Services, Chris Knight, addressed this problem by installing 100 high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR hand dryers in the park’s busiest bathrooms.
A cost-saving analysis revealed that XLERATOR saves the park over $83,000 annually — a 97 percent savings over paper towels. Aramark, a global leader in facilities management and professional services, handles maintenance at Fenway Park.
“[The hand dryers] provide a tremendous amount of savings compared to paper towels,” said Roy Contreras, senior custodial manager for Aramark. “The staff says that before the hand dryers were installed, a busy game day was like a tornado hit the park. XLERATOR dryers are helping us do a better job and keep Fenway clean. I can’t imagine the place without them anymore.”
