Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services is listed among Franchise Business Review’s “Top 100 Best Recession-Proof Businesses To Start in 2021.”

The list features brands with high franchisee satisfaction ratings that are poised to outperform their competitors in the coming years.

“We are pleased to be listed among Franchise Business Review’s best recession-proof businesses,” said Todd Hopkins, founder and CEO of Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services. “The intense focus on workplace cleanliness over the past year has increased consumers’ appreciation for commercial cleaning, and we are optimistic about Office Pride’s future. We also are proud of how our franchisees and corporate team have worked together to help our communities reopen and recover safely.”

It's the second straight year that Franchise Business Review, a franchise market research firm that performs independent surveys of franchisees, released a list of top recession-proof franchises. For the 2020 list, it focused on sectors that were anticipated to perform well as the economy rebounded after the COVID-19 pandemic, such as business services and staffing, home repair and maintenance, child services and education, automotive repair, etc.

Those essential businesses are strongly represented on this year’s list, which considered franchisee satisfaction ratings as well as corporate support and systems that set up franchise owners for a bright future.

Franchising historically has performed well during and after a recession.

“At its core, franchising is about ‘being in business for yourself but not by yourself, and over the last year many in the franchise community have pulled together during the pandemic to support and help protect their franchise owners,” said Eric Stites, Franchise Business Review’s founder and CEO. “That’s what makes franchising uniquely positioned to innovate and recover much faster than other businesses during a down economy.”

Michelle Rowan, Franchise Business Review’s president and chief operating officer, added, “Not only do the companies on this list have outstanding satisfaction among their owners, but we feel they have the greatest opportunity to succeed during these historic times, when so many small business owners are struggling.”

For the 2021 list, Franchise Business Review surveyed 28,000 franchise owners from 307 brands to determine the top recession-proof franchises.

A respected national franchise system, Office Pride has been listed among Franchise Business Review’s Top 200 Franchises to Buy for 14 years and is a member of Franchise Business Review’s Hall of Fame. Office Pride also is listed among Franchise Business Review’s Top Franchises for Women, Top Low-Cost Franchises, Best Franchises for Veterans and the inaugural Franchise Culture100 awards.
