Colgate-Palmolive has been named a 2018 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for the eighth consecutive year and has received the Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership and superior contributions to ENERGY STAR. Colgate’s accomplishments were recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2018.
“Colgate is committed to our partnership with the EPA and its ENERGY STAR program, and we’re proud to receive the 2018 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award,” said Ann Tracy, Vice President Global Sustainability, Environmental Health and Safety, and Supply Chain Strategy. “This award recognizes our continued commitment to energy conservation and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, as outlined in our sustainability report.”

Its goal is to reduce the energy intensity by 33 percent and carbon emissions by 25 percent absolute by 2020 compared to 2002, with a long term goal of 50 percent absolute reduction by 2050. Below are a few ways Colgate demonstrates its commitment to this effort.
• Achieving 68 ENERGY STAR Challenge for Industry Awards at our global manufacturing sites since 2011
• Conducting Energy Treasure Hunts to identify energy-saving projects
• Installing on-site solar energy and purchasing renewable wind power to help reduce electricity carbon emissions
• Engaging suppliers in energy conservation
• Raising awareness among consumers through its Save Water campaign
• Partnering with customers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our whole supply chain and in the use of our products
Colgate is committed to collaboration and disclosure of its sustainability efforts and in 2017 was named to the CDP Climate and Water A-Lists, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for North America and the World Index, and was ranked on the Newsweek list of Top Green Companies in the U.S.
“The 2018 ENERGY STAR Partners of the Year have demonstrated real leadership, showing how American families and businesses can save energy, save money, and reduce air emissions,” said Bill Wehrum, EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation.
