Earlier this year we shared with our readers the news of a 18-carat gold toilet (for some reason) being placed at the childhood home of Winston Churchill. Well now it appears that a group of Englanders loved this royal porcelain throne so much that they decided to steal it.
Police have confirmed that the functioning gold toilet was stolen Saturday from an art exhibit at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England, reports New York Daily News.
The case of the stolen toilet was made worse by the fact that the theft left the palace with flooding and significant damage.
At the time of the Daily News’ report, a 66-year-old man had been arrested for his connection to crime. However, police are still searching for the others involved.
Named “America” the golden toilet is a satirical piece of art developed by Italian artist Maurizio Catellan.
