Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division has renewed its 2009 contract with Accor Group. With more than 3,600 hotels and 470,000 rooms, Accor welcomes business and leisure travelers in 92 countries across all hotel segments: luxury-upscale with Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery and Grand Mercure, midscale with Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure and Adagio and economy with ibis, ibis Styles, ibis budget and hotelF1. As part of the multi-year, multi-million dollar contract, Diversey Care will provide solutions and services that support Accor’s sustainable development program.

Diversey Care will help the hotel operator reduce costs by implementing Diversey Care solutions that reduce waste, including super concentrates and dosage equipment. As a result of the past contract, the amount of plastic waste per liter of solution was reduced by 97 percent, from 141 grams in 2010 to 0.15 grams in 2013. Diversey Care will also ensure Accor staff are trained and cleaning processes are in place in order to maintain the highest hygiene requirements.

Diversey Care’s eco-label products support Accor’s PLANET 21 program, which consists of 21 sustainable commitments that Accor Group has agreed to achieve for 2015. As a result of the partnership, Accor grew the ratio of eco-label products in its hotels by 31 percent from 2009 to 2013. Eco-designed products are beneficial to the planet, especially since they also have an impact on water pollution thanks to their enhanced biodegradability.
