Sealed Air’s Diversey business announced that five leading Building Service Contractors (BSCs) completed its recent HHPC Day Training Academy held in Sturtevant, Wis. The three-day event culminated on Sept. 13 and brought cleaning industry experts and BSCs together for formal training and certification. The newly-certified BSCs include The Budd Group and Image Property Services. Harvard Maintenance, GCA Services Group and St. Moritz Building Services also certified additional employees for regions throughout the United States.

With the help of experienced facility managers, industry consultants and Diversey’s in-house cleaning experts, attendees at the HHPC Day Academy learned how to implement and manage their own day cleaning programs using a Healthy High Performance Cleaning (HHPC) system.  Becoming a HHPC Day Certified Contractor allows BSCs to offer their customers sustainable building maintenance, leading to energy savings and improved productivity. The system also benefits employee morale by transitioning cleaning from late-night shifts to daytime hours.

“The HHPC Day Academy pulled together a wealth of relevant and comprehensive knowledge about day cleaning,” said program attendee Michael Scott, Director of Operations for Image Property Services. “It was truly one of the best seminars I’ve attended and I left feeling like a day cleaning expert by the end of the program.”

The most recent event included an extensive agenda that covered more than 20 topics. Sessions provided in-depth detail regarding day cleaning for green buildings, reducing cost and maximizing quality, developing an action plan for success and more.

HHPC Day Certified Contractors utilize toolkits that include operations and staff training materials, online training courses, marketing materials and client communications to accelerate the adoption of day cleaning programs. Diversey will offer additional HHPC Day Academy sessions in 2013.

“Providing participants with the keys to a successful day cleaning program helps BSCs jumpstart their own day cleaning efforts, allowing them to meet their clients’ needs while improving employee attitudes,” said Rob Kohlhagen, Executive Director of the HHPC Day Academy. “The HHPC Day Academy accomplishes this by combining comprehensive information sessions with training from industry leaders. It is our mission to help our partner BSCs build the capability to effectively implement, manage and market day cleaning programs.”
