Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division has honored Fabrice Moizan, general manager of Hotel Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris, with the European Hotel Management Association (EHMA) Sustainability Award by Diversey Care. Moizan was honored because of his strong leadership, innovative approach to sustainability and the program’s clear impact on the environment.

Diversey Care presented the award during a ceremony on 29 March at the 41st EHMA General Meeting in Monaco.

“We are honored to present this award to such a deserving individual,” said Dr. Ilham Kadri, Diversey Care president. “Diversey Care is committed to providing a better way for life for current and future generations, and we are pleased to partner with EHMA to honor those that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.”

The EHMA Sustainability Award by Diversey Care acknowledges an EHMA general manager who successfully implements an innovative sustainability program at their property. Moizan’s sustainability program raised in excess of €181,000 by selling wine together with his employees, money that was used to replant 40 hectares of forest and 37,000 trees being replanted, thus reducing the facility’s carbon footprint.

In addition to presenting the award at the event, Kadri participated in a joint discussion on sustainability with Professor Michael Hartman, an EHL advisor for sustainability strategy. Kadri spoke about the importance of sustainability within the hospitality industry and how it is the new “quality,” while Hartmann presented the EHL philosophy of the three axes to sustainability — environment, society and profit.

Diversey Care is a division of Sealed Air Corp., a leader in food safety and security, facility hygiene and product protection.
