Ecocleen, a commercial contract cleaning provider, announced that Peter David has been promoted to head of systems and compliance. With over 25 years of experience in the franchise industry, he will ensure the business, its employees and its franchisees comply with all relevant regulations and specifications, focusing on improving efficiency and driving sustainability.
In his new role, David is instrumental in reviewing Ecocleen’s current compliance systems, procedures and processes, ensuring all stakeholders are on board with these measures. He is also responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business, as well as providing training to make sure the message of compliance and sustainability is shared with all employees. With this in mind, David has introduced an initial 3-day comprehensive training course in which staff are educated on regulations applicable to their job function in the cleaning industry, before returning for a refresher course after 6-weeks.
"I am delighted to be leading the compliance team and look forward to building on the company’s strategies," said David. "Looking ahead, I will continue working with the growing Ecocleen team to implement long-term goals and plans for compliance, to ensure we are playing our part in tackling climate change and enforcing high standards on behalf of our customers and franchise partners."
“We are all delighted to be working with Peter as he brings a wealth of experience to the team, making a great contribution to the ambitious vision and leadership Ecocleen requires to continue our upward trajectory. Peter has already spearheaded plans of action, and I’m thrilled to work closely with him to continue driving Ecocleen’s continuous improvement in sustainability,” said Mark McMullen, chief commercial officer at Ecocleen.
Every year Ecocleen undertakes a strategic review of the business to identify the next phase of the company’s ambitious plans for sustainability. Its main focus is on reducing the businesses environmental impact and Ecocleen has recently moved its central office operation to Howbery Park, a sustainable 70-acre estate that is the UK’s first solar-powered business park. Not only has this had a significant impact on reducing the head office’s carbon footprint, but the company has also adopted paperless processes to reduce waste by over 90 percent. In addition, the ISO 14001 accredited business has explored the potential benefits of replacing diesel-powered vehicles and is fully committed to all fleets being electric by 2025.
