The 2020-2021 flu season remains a bit of a non issue as almost all states displayed minimal flu activity entering November.

Iowa was the only state to display greater than what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) classifies as "minimal" flu activity in its most recent Weekly Influenza Surveillance Report, which was issued Oct. 31. But things aren't exactly bad in Iowa, either. The report suggests that Iowa has "low flu activity, which is the only tier greater than minimal on its Influenza-Like Illness Activity Level Indicator, which is determined by reported data. The other three tiers are classified as "moderate," "high" and "very high."

For context, at this time last year just one of the 54 jurisdictions monitored by the report had moderate flu activity and another had low activity. The report comes to 54 jurisdictions by counting America's 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., New York City, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
