GSA recently established 35 blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) with 18 companies. Those companies indlude: Acuity Specialty Products, Inc. dba Zep Sales and Services; Ansley Business Materials of Chicago, Inc.; Capitol Supply, Inc.; CAPP, Inc.; Document Imaging Dimensions, Inc.; Global Procurement Solutions, Inc.; Independent Stationers, Inc.; Nobile Supply & Logistics; Premier & Companies, Inc.; Shelby Distributions, Inc.; Staples Advantage dba Staples; Sterling Business Machines, Inc.; Supplies Now, Inc.; The Office Group, Inc. dba Stephens Office Supply; TSRC, Inc. dba Frank Persons Co - The Supply Room; W. W. Grainger, Inc.; WECsys LLC; and Wrigglesworth Enterprises, Inc.

The agreement for a new strategic sourcing solution is designed to help federal agencies purchase Janitorial and Sanitation (JanSan) supplies at discounted prices that are an estimated 15 percent lower than standard government pricing. ISSA reports that this recent round of BPA awards is part of the overall implementation of the Federal Strategic Sourcing Initiative, a fundamental change in federal procurement that is occurring now.

Effective Oct. 23, GSA customers can order direct from the JanSan contract vehicle, utilizing the 18 contractors available.  The discounted pricing is available directly through those GSA contractors only.  The list of the 18 companies awarded the 35 BPAs under the JanSan Purchasing Channel are listed at: www.gsa.gov/fssijansan.

For purposes of implementing strategic sourcing in the JanSan Purchasing channel, GSA has grouped products into four categories: Cleaning Compounds and Related Dispensers, Non-Motorized Cleaning Equipment and Trash Receptacles, Paper Products and Related Dispensers, and Motorized Floor Cleaning Equipment and Accessories.  The first three categories require AbilityOne items; however, all vendors within these groupings are AbilityOne-authorized distributors.
