HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, a distributor of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products announced the opening of its newest distribution center in Calera, Ala., approximately 30 miles south of Birmingham.

The new distribution center is the 43rd in the company’s vast operations network in North America, and the second new  building pening for HD Supply Facilities Maintenance in 2013. The company opened a 50,000 square foot facility in Secaucus, N.J. earlier this year.

“We are excited to open our Birmingham-area distribution center, an important addition to our network of distribution centers throughout the United States and Canada,” says Anesa Chaibi, president and CEO of HD Supply Facilities Maintenance. “This new distribution center allows us to continue to improve our local support for customers in the Southeast, including Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana and the Florida panhandle.”

The 350,000 square-foot facility will employ more than 50 associates when fully staffed, bringing new job opportunities to the Birmingham area, the company adds.
