HIRE Vets Medallion Program Applications To Be Accepted In 2018

The U.S. Department of Labor recently announced the Final Rule implementing the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing (HIRE) American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act), according to an  on the Department's website.
 
The rule establishes a new HIRE Vets Medallion Program, which will recognize qualifying companies with a HIRE Vets Medallion Award, for their commitment to recruit, employ and retain America’s military service veterans.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Program is an opportunity for large and small companies to signal their commitment to employing veterans. Throughout the coming year, the ongoing investments companies make in our veterans will count when they apply for the HIRE Vets Medallion Award in 2019.

Successful applicants will receive a certificate stating the year for which it was awarded and a digital image of the medallion to use, including as part of an advertisement, solicitation, business activity or product.
 
The purpose of the HIRE Vets Medallion is to recognize employers who have employed and retained veterans, including their efforts to establish employee development programs for veterans, and employers who offer veteran specific benefits to improve retention. Award recipients will have the opportunity to utilize the medallion in the marketing of their firm as a veteran friendly business when hiring, and in efforts to attract additional business.
