Being recognized  by one’s peers is among the top honors a business can achieve.  Amsterdam, New York’s Hill & Markes, Inc. recently received such industry recognition with two awards, including the prestigious Network Services “Distributor of the Year Award.” The awards were presented at a Network Services shareholders meeting in Dallas, Texas.

“Being invited to join Network Services seven years ago was an honor in itself,” said Hill & Markes’ CEO Neal Packer.  “We knew we were joining a premier organization with business opportunities we did not have access to previously.  To be honored as “Distributor of the Year” came as an enormous honor and complete surprise.”

Criteria for the award included purchasing power, increased sales volume, customer service for national and local accounts, participation in improving Network, sharing best practices with other Network distributors and innovations.

“It might have been our innovative new plant, a totally green facility which opened  in Montgomery County in 2011 that put us over the top with the selection committee,” said Andrea Finkle Packer, Hill & Markes’ Vice President of Marketing.  “Our new, custom built ’green building’ is a candidate for LEED Gold Certification.  Innovative design,  advanced technology and state of the art energy initiatives are well represented in the facility.”

It is interesting to note that the Network Services “Distributor of the Year Award” isn’t necessarily presented annually. The merit based award is only given when the Network membership identifies exemplary achievement.  While at the Dallas meeting, Hill & Markes received additional recognition based on the workings of the company.
