The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is pleased to announce the winner of the IFMA Sustainable Exhibitor Award for the 2013 World Workplace Conference and Expo in Philadelphia. The winner of this innovative, voluntary program which was designed to encourage and highlight environmentally conscious exhibition practices is Davies Office Refurbishing, Inc.

“Every year, more of the companies and organizations exhibiting products and services at World Workplace are also showing off innovative sustainable exhibit practices,” said Marina Badoian-Kriticos, sustainability director at IFMA. “This trend is based on sound business policy as facility management professionals around the world are increasingly incorporating sustainable solutions. IFMA’s Sustainable Exhibitor Award lets us recognize the innovative efforts of our exhibitors to meet the growing demand for sustainability.”

IFMA’s long-standing dedication to the promotion and support of sustainability in facility management is on display at world-renowned conferences like World Workplace. Exhibitors participating in IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo were invited to complete and submit the IFMA Exhibitor Sustainability Scorecard, which was developed in partnership with and scored by the Leonardo Academy, a third-party nonprofit organization that specializes in sustainability solutions. Submissions were evaluated on the following categories:
• Sustainability policies
• Exhibit materials
• Travel, packing, shipping and freight
• Printed materials and giveaways
• Recycling and reuse of exhibit materials
• Sustainable products and services
• Extra credit (covers items not included in other categories)

Davies Office Refurbishing, Inc., the winner of the award, is based in Albany, NY. Founded in 1948, it has become the largest independent multi-line remanufacturer in the United States with more than 300,000 square feet of inventory, warehousing and remanufacturing production. Davies Office Refurbishing has reached a platinum level Sustainable exhibitor certification level. Their sustainability policies cover their exhibiting practice and are also very comprehensive for their organization and their products they sell.
