During the recent Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) fall meetings in Vancouver, Wash., several key leaders within the industry were honored for their outstanding leadership and contribution to the Institute.
“Instructors and volunteers are integral to the success of the Institute,” said IICRC Chairman Tony Wheelwright. “They often represent the ‘face’ of the IICRC and are experts in the industries we serve. We like to take time during each meeting to recognize their dedication and show appreciation for their hard work.”
To kick off the awards, the Institute presented Carey Vermeulen with the 2014 Ironman award. The Ironman award goes to the individual who has taught the most courses. Vermeulen led with 47 courses by the time of the presentation.
Joe Dobbins was recognized as the 2014 Instructor of the Year. The Instructor of the Year award goes to the individual who has taught the most students in a year. Dobbins instructed 791 students at the time of the recognition.
Other notable leaders were presented with Certificates of Appreciation for the following: Sonny Bass, one year as Exams Chair; Dennis Blake, one year as Property Management Chair; Bo Bodo, Outgoing Cleaning Division Chairman; Joe Dobbins, one year as Audit Committee Chair; Joy Finch, one year as Certification, Preparation, Exploration Task Force Chair/one year as Indoor Environmental Technician/Higher Education Task Force Chair; Joe Hughes, one year as Certified Indoor Environmental Inspector Task Force Chair; Mickey Lee, one year as Master Commercial Water Restorer Task Force Chair; Lonnie McDonald, Outgoing Board Member Fall of 2013; Patrick Moffett, one year as Reciprocity Task Force Chair/one year as Appeals Panel Chair; Michael Morrow, one year as Resilient Floor Maintenance Technician Chair; Rod Paulson, one year as Awards Committee Chair; Mark Warner, one year as Hard Surface Division Chair.
The following IICRC instructors were also awarded service pins in recognition for their years of service: For five years: Rick Alston, Mark Ayers, Duncan Bennett, Mark Cornelius, Robert Fairbanks, Michel Forget, Jerry Giesinger, Kevin Jones, Loyd Krueger, Mickey Lee and Howie Wolf; 10 years: Jeff Cross, Bruce DeLoatch, Kevin Fisher, Claudia Lezell, Lonnie McDonald, Glenn Ray, Lee Rickert and James Senter. Twenty and 25-year pins were given to Steve Andrews and Tony Macaluso, respectively.
