A solid line-up of high-level executive advice, timely industry updates, and critical technical advice await attendees of the ISSA Convention Seminars — held during ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America 2013, which takes place this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The collection of more than 45 seminars and workshops was crafted based on ISSA member input regarding the hottest topics they currently face in today’s demanding marketplace. In an effort to continuously bring the latest information to the ISSA audience to keep them ahead of the curve, more than 50 percent of the sessions will be presented by business experts new to the convention.
“Industry dynamics are constantly shifting, which is why it is so critical to attend the ISSA seminars every year to stay up-to-date,“ says Ted Stark, president of Dalco Industries, Minneapolis, MN. “Just because you attended last year, doesn’t mean you can stay home and still remain relevant to your customers. The ISSA presenters do a great job of bringing new perspectives valuable to multiple decision-makers within our organization.”
New in 2013
In addition to a host of fresh speakers, multiple seminar tracks and half-day workshops were added this year to address attendee requests for specific advice. There will be a mix of sessions in traditional seminar room settings Monday, November 18 as well as sessions right on the trade show floor in the ISSA Education Theater, Booth 2284, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 19-20.
The Workforce Development seminar track aims to help executives find, train, incentivize, and retain the best talent while the Young Executive track helps the managers of tomorrow further develop their strengths and skills. This year’s Lunch & Learn session, Attract the Best, Repel the Rest, will share hiring tactics from successful leaders such as Jack Welch and Warren Buffet.
Companies interested in arming their sales people with the best edge will want to send them to the new Know Your Customer track. Sessions will share advice for solving the critical issues most cleaning operations face to help them align their support in the right areas. Topics include:
• Change the Conversation from Cost to Profit
• A New Process for Cleaning for Health
• GHS is Here! Are You Prepared?
• Healthcare Best Practices for Non-Healthcare Cleaning
• Behind the Broom: Managing a Professional Cleaning Operation
In response to requests for help navigating new technology, there will be a half-day workshop, Social Media Boot Camp: Strengthening Your Reach, as well as an entire track of sessions covering the best use of social media and business technology.
Another new workshop, Smart Staffing: Cleaning Times and Work Assignments, will help operations leaders better workload and optimize their services.
