The ISSA Hygieia Network, an ISSA Charities signature program dedicated to the advancement and retention of women in the cleaning industry, has introduced HIGHER, a regional professional development event series and the first-ever Hygieia Online Member Network through a partnership with Wisr.

The first HIGHER event will take place Nov. 6, 2019 in Santa Ana, Calif., from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The ISSA Hygieia Network has a vision to enable all women in the cleaning industry to accelerate their careers,” says Meredith Reuben, chair of the Hygieia Council, and CEO of EBP Supply Solutions, Milford, Conneticut. “There are many of us who are willing to share our experiences and advice for those just starting out or eager to advance. We want women to be inspired at the regional ISSA Hygieia Network events and to continue the conversation online in our networking community.”

The 2019 HIGHER event will focus on the personal and professional development of the women in attendance and will feature three leaders in the industry: Diana Le, product UX designer, Brain Corp.; Sally Schopmeyer, president, Maintenance, Inc.; and Lydia Work, president, American Paper Converting. Attendees will also gain access to career workshops, flash mentoring, and more to help create a concrete action plan for reaching professional goals.

Members of the ISSA Hygieia Network’s free online community will be able to access educational resources and training opportunities to support their development and advancement and connect with colleagues across the cleaning industry. The online network will be officially unveiled by Wisr CEO Kate Volzer at the ISSA Hygieia Network’s annual awards reception, Nov. 18, 2019, part of ISSA Show North America 2019 in Las Vegas.
