ISSA and the Independent Office Products and Furniture Dealers Association (IOPFDA) have merged, according to both side. The merger was voted on and approved by IOPFDA and ISSA members, respectively. IOPFDA will now be known as IOPFDA, a Division of ISSA.
IOPFDA was formed in 1904 and includes a membership of more than 600 office products and furniture dealers, manufacturers, wholesalers, manufacturer representatives, and industry service providers across the United States. IOPFDA includes two interactive divisions based on members’ primary business offering: the National Office Products Alliance (NOPA) and the Office Furniture Dealers Alliance (OFDA).
“We are very excited about this partnership and the opportunities, resources, and benefits it will deliver to our membership,” said IOPFDA Executive Director Mike Tucker via press release. “Our membership base will have access to educational programs, health insurance, and many other rich initiatives that are currently offered by ISSA, expanding the value of IOPFDA membership overall.”
As office products dealers’ portfolios have evolved to include janitorial and cleaning product offerings, IOPFDA’s merger with ISSA expands its members’ business opportunities in the cleaning industry and beyond.
Under the terms of the agreement, IOPFDA members will have access to ISSA membership and its extensive benefits, including ISSA’s Member Discount Program, Value of Clean resources, member directory, advocacy, networking opportunities, and additional business tools relevant to office products and furniture dealers’ evolving business needs. Meanwhile, IOPFDA members will continue to receive the association’s primary benefits of government advocacy, data standardization, education, and the IOPFDA scholarship fund.
“ISSA’s mission is to change the way the world views cleaning in all sectors of the industry,” said ISSA Executive Director John Barrett in a press release. “This merger is yet another move toward creating one strong, unified industry. We are thrilled to welcome IOPFDA members into the growing ISSA family.”
