Several industry companies were honored in Fortune magazine's lastest list of the world's most admired companies.

Procter & Gamble, parent company of Procter & Gamble Professional, ranked first in the soaps and cosmetics category and fifth overall.

3M took top honors in the medical and other precision equipment category and ranked fifteenth overall.

Dow Chemical Co., was named the fourth most admired company in the chemicals category.

Electrolux AB, parent company of Electrolux Home Care Products NA, placed fifth in the home equipment and furnishings category.

International Paper Co., parent company of xpedx, ranked second in the forest and paper products category.

Cintas Corp. and The ServiceMaster Co., parent company of ServiceMaster Clean, placed third and fourth, respectively, in the diversified outsourcing services category.
