KBM Facility Solutions announced its nomination for the 2012 National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NMSDC) annual “Supplier of the Year” Award.

Presented each year at the NMSDC annual conference, the award recognizes minority suppliers that have distinguished their businesses by demonstrating growth, providing high-quality products at competitive prices, implementing cost-saving initiatives, continuously growing minority-owned business (MBE) purchases and significantly contributing to the growth and development of society and their community.

“We work hard to create a culture of continuous improvement in all facets of our business,” said Rene Tuchscher, Chief Operating Officer, KBM Facility Solutions. “But it’s not just about business; it’s about using business to make the world a better place to live—for everyone. We’re honored to receive such recognition for these efforts.”

Other businesses nominated for the award represent a wide range of industries, including construction/general contracting, creative services, information technology, security systems and staffing/professional services. Nominees are grouped into four classes based on sales – KBM received a Class 3 Award for annual sales of $10 - $50 million.

In addition to the “Supplier of the Year” Nomination, KBM also recently received the Workplace Excellence Award for a mid-sized company presented by the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management.

The Workplace Excellence Awards were created in 2000 to educate and enlighten business leaders in San Diego on the value and contribution that exceptional human resources practices can make to the success and profitability of an organization.

“Our people are what make us successful,” added Tuchscher. “Neither of these awards would be possible without their hard work and dedication. Good people are what make great businesses.”
