The Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields in Fairfield, Ohio, is the site of two baseball fields built essentially by volunteers and designed for use by young people with physical and development disabilities.
And thanks to a gift from Kaivac, the facility will also be thoroughly and hygienically cleaned.
Kaivac donated a KV1250 No-Touch Cleaning system to clean restrooms as well as concession stands and other areas at the site.
The entire field is designed to be disability friendly and includes such things as:
· State-of-the-art handicapped-accessible restrooms
· A level parking lot with an abundance of handicapped-accessible parking
· Level sidewalks and easy-to-maneuver ramps connecting various areas of the field
· Covered ground-level dugouts
· Stadium-style seating and a brand-new electronic scoreboard
According to Robert Robinson Sr., President of Kaivac, the field will mainly be used by the Miracle League, which makes the dream of playing baseball a reality for thousands of children with disabilities throughout the country.
The Miracle League evolved as a result of a 2001 segment on the HBO television show Real Sports, which discussed a baseball field in Conyers, Georgia, used by about 120 children with disabilities.
Today, there are 250 Miracle League organizations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Australia.
“This is really a unique and special site and organization,” says Robinson. “Scores of people and organizations have gotten behind the league and helped to make the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields happen. We are proud to be one of them.”
