Charles O. Lane, a former leader at National Sanitary Supply, died Dec. 10, according to ISSA.

Lane, whose family owned half of National Sanitary Supply at the time it was sold in 1983, worked for the company for 35 years, alongside his partner Bob Garber and brother Tom Lane.

When the company divided up its shares, the Lane’s mother, Pearl, was shown to own 24.75 percent, while Charles owned 13.1215 percent and Tom owned 12.1312.

“However, on the documents, Chuck changed the number by hand so that he had 12.6263% and I had 12.6263%,” Tom told ISSA. “He wanted us to have equal shares.”

Charles Lane worked as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army prior to his career at National Sanitary Supply.

A memorial service was held Dec. 15 in Culver City, California.
