The National Air Filtration Association has honored Jim Rosenthal and Ron Mattson with Distinguished Service awards.

The NAFA Distinguished Service Award is presented to a member who, by their long time consistent efforts helps promote NAFA through their participation of committees, contributing articles to Air Media, writing or rewriting text for the NAFA Guide to Air Filtration and the Installation, Operations and Maintenance of Air Filtration Systems texts, and generally doing work that promotes the air filter industry while being part of NAFA. 

Nominated by the membership of NAFA, this year, eight nominees were considered by the NAFA Executive Committee.The award is limited to two recipients per year.

 

Ron Mattson Receives DSA From Harry Allen, President-elect of NAFA

 

Ron Mattson, CAFS and president of DP Systems of Chicago, Ill., is one of NAFA’s 30-year members, and his name can be found in the NAFA text because he is an advocate of technical and filter information. Mattson is a presenter in the Track One NAFA Technical Seminar, helping teach applicants for the Certified Air Filter Specialist (CAFS) exam. He is a frequent presenter to outside groups including ASHRAE and ASHE. Well respected for his technical knowledge in high-end HEPA filtration, he worked many years for a NAFA Associate Member and then went out and bought his own company. Having vice chaired and chaired several NAFA committees, and having worked on many of the NAFA guidelines he is currently working as chair of the NAFA Technical Committee, writing the 5th Edition of the NAFA Guide to Air Filtration.

Jim Rosenthal a NAFA member who is always up front of the crowd and before other organizations being a spokesperson for NAFA, having provided many presentations, articles on IAQ in Air Media and other publications, and is one of NAFA’s strongest advocates. Providing his input and knowledge, he has participated on the NAFA Guidelines Committee, Technical Committee, Marketing and Membership Committee. He has served in many capacities including being the President of NAFA. The person who nominated this member said of him, “I can’t ever remember asking him to do something that he didn’t say “yes” and then he did it!"

NAFA is the trade association for heating, ventilating and air conditioning air filter manufacturers and distributors around the world.
