Nexstep Commercial Products (Exclusive Licensee of O-Cedar) has named Modern Sales Company of Olmsted, Ohio, and Keystone Marketing Group of Woodbury, Minnesota, co-winners of its 2016 Sales Rep Agency of the Year award.

Modern Sales has represented Nexstep Commercial Products since April 2013, and this is the third consecutive year Modern has been named Sales Rep Agency of the Year. The agency was founded by Larry Flury in 1975 after spending many years as the national sales manager of a large polyethylene can liner manufacturer. Today Modern Sales is run by Larry’s children, Charlie Flury and Nancy Pailes, who both joined the agency immediately following graduating from Bowling Green State University. Nancy and her husband, Rick Pailes, have worked together for 18 years, and Charlie’s son, Mike Flury, joined the agency six years ago. In addition to these four reps, Modern Sales also employs Bob Foeller and Bill Umbarger, two very experienced reps in the JanSan Industry, and Gerid Gee, who joined the team last year from a JanSan distribution background. A large part of Modern’s success is due to Sandi Olbrysh and Kathy Stanich, who cover all the day-to-day operations in the office. The agency has developed long-lasting relationships with their distribution network in Ohio, West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan.

This is the first time Keystone Marketing Group has been named Sales Rep Agency of the Year. Keystone began as Skytte Marketing in 1991 and evolved into Keystone in 2007. Steve Skytte has worked in the JanSan industry since 1974, with experience as both a distributor and manufacturers’ rep. Last fall, Keystone rep Denny Smith also began to represent O-Cedar Commercial products. Denny has been a JanSan rep since 1981. Steve’s wife, Kenya, handles Keystone’s bookkeeping and administrative duties. Keystone specializes in institutional and industrial cleaning supplies. They represent 13 lines. Keystone Marketing Group has represented Nexstep since 2007, serving distributors in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Wisconsin.
