No Joke — Website Creates Gallery Of Bizarre Toilets

The UK's Daily Mail website recently posted a collection of bizarre toilets in an online gallery - including one commode shaped like a throne and a urinal that plays music when it's used. The gallery, originally created by Bored Panda, also includes a toilet that appears to be in full-view of a meeting room and another bathroom which only has frosted glass for privacy.

One sad bathroom contains a design fail with a sink too small for a person to wash their hands. Another has a poster showing a man with a judgmental look on his face staring down on a urinal.

But for a restroom that is more impressive than disturbing, consider a trip to Sanibel, Florida. According to earlier CleanLink reports, the facilities at J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge was named the winner of the 2018 America’s Best Restroom contest, sponsored by the Cintas Corporation.

The Refuge facilities was designed to be another opportunity for educating visitors. The Learning Lavatories encourage visitors to become entirely immersed in refuge habitat and wildlife.

Inside the restrooms, tarpon, otter, osprey, and sea turtle sculptures provide an underwater wildlife illusion. Photographic tile murals depict a lush, watery mangrove scene on one wall. Close-up professional bird photos wrap stall doors, with identification information on the inside. These Learning Lavatories dazzle, but also educate along the walk with interpretive messaging about the wildlife and saving the environment.
