OpenWorks Names New Director Of Human Resources

OpenWorks, a  national commercial cleaning and facility services franchise, welcomes Human Resources and Talent Professional leader Kelsie McClendon. He will serve as OpenWorks’ Director of Human Resources and is tasked with streamlining HR processes to further enable the company’s growth.

As Director of Human Resources, McClendon’s first initiatives are to focus on company culture and growth. Strategically, his main focus is to determine if the OpenWorks’ values and culture continue to align with the current business model and to re-examine and restructure as needed. McClendon plans to ensure systems are in place to support the additional organic and geographical growth that the business will experience going forward. The first tactical objectives will consist of validating the selection system and understanding retention trends.

“OpenWorks’ growth over the past five years has been deliberate and strategic, and now that the brand has a national presence, we are ready to be even more thorough and efficient internally,” said OpenWorks CEO and founder Eric Roudi. “Kelsie is a great addition to the team. He is community-oriented and people-focused, aligning perfectly with our brand. His 20-plus years of experience will support OpenWorks just as we are about to boom.”

Prior to joining OpenWorks, McClendon spent 20 years in human resource management roles with Fortune 500 and high growth companies, such as Total Transit, Inc., Niagara Bottling, LLC, Rummel Construction, Nationwide Insurance, and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. His expertise includes organizational strategy and development, talent management and overall performance improvement.  Outside of the office, McClendon serves as Chair of the Arizona@Work-Maricopa County Workforce Development Board, Director of Technology for the Arizona Society for Human Resources Management, and is a past president of the Society for Human Resources Management-Greater Phoenix Chapter. He is also a Senior Certified Human Resources Practitioner through the Society for Human Resources Management and is

SPHR certified through the Human Resources Certification Institute.

“OpenWorks has had such a positive impact on the community, organizations it services, franchisees, employees, and other stakeholders, that I was immediately drawn to the brand. The company’s people-first focus has allowed for tremendous growth opportunities and innovations within the industry. Now it’s my job to ensure we, as a brand, continue to open offices across the country, while never losing our culture of helping others around us,” McClendon said. “My personal motto is to keep learning, help other people, and have fun, and everything else will take care of itself. I want to help people reach their full potential, and I know OpenWorks will give me that opportunity.”
