ISSA announced that Pacific Maintenance Company (PMC) has certified to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) criteria, with Honors. PMC is a Santa Clara-based company that provides facilities maintenance services throughout the United States.
“PMC has always focused on exceeding customer expectations in all areas of the business, whether it’s basic janitorial cleaning, painting, landscape maintenance, or cleanroom and micron-level cleaning protocols. Receiving the CIMS and CIMS-GB certifications from ISSA confirms that we are consistently doing the right things every day for our clients,” said Kari Hus, PMC’s president.
CIMS is an internationally recognized standard developed specifically for cleaning organizations, and it applies to management, operations, and performance systems. Compliance with this cleaning industry standard demonstrates that PMC is structured to deliver consistent, quality services that meet customers’ needs and expectations.
Compliance with the CIMS-GB criteria illustrates PMC’s ability to provide green and sustainable cleaning programs. The CIMS-GB designation will ensure that PMC provides customers with precisely what they require to secure points under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM) Green Building Rating System, while providing green cleaning operations overall.
“We have clearly defined work practices and verification procedures in place for each of our clients’ facilities, which include having written standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all work carried out in each facility served. The CIMS certification confirms that PMC is structured to deliver consistent, quality services to our clients. The CIMS-GB recognizes that we stand ready to help our clients to achieve their environmental goals and certifications,” said Ms. Hus.
PMC, in order to acquire its CIMS certification, demonstrated that it had site-specific scopes of work that set forth cleaning service requirements, along with having a quality plan in place for assessing whether service requirements are met. PMC’s service delivery, workloading, purchasing, employee training, and worker health and safety practices were also reviewed.
As part of the certification process, an independent, accredited assessor conducted on-site reviews of PMC’s systems, processes, and documentation. The assessor also visited randomly selected customers to ensure that PMC’s activities are consistent with its documented systems and processes.
“We pride ourselves on the use of effective, sophisticated maintenance practices to serve our clients, along with implementing specialized procedures unique to each of the sites we serve,” said Ms. Hus. “We are delighted that our peers in the cleaning industry recognize, through awarding us the CIMS and CIMS-GB certification, that PMC’s systems and quality control practices, along with our stringent green and sustainable cleaning practices, truly benefit our customers. I am really proud of what our PMC team has accomplished.”
