Pacific Maintenance Company (PMC), a Santa Clara-based contract cleaning firm with locations throughout the United States, is collecting non-perishable food for the 2013 Holiday Food and Fund Drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Both PMC employees and customers are contributing food to the PMC food bank campaign, which will run through December 21.
Second Harvest has a goal of two million pounds of food for this year’s holiday food drive.
“We share the belief that no one should go hungry. We have a corporate commitment to sustainability, which includes reaching out to the community," said Karl Hus, PMC president. "Our involvement in the Second Harvest holiday food drive means that we can help nourish and nurture people who are in need. We also like to be able to involve many of our customers in this effort. It’s a great way for PMC employees and managers to interact with our customers in a way that helps the less fortunate families in our community.”
In October PMC employees, managers, and families participated in the San Jose American Diabetes Association “Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes”, the American Diabetes Association's signature fundraising walk. The PMC team raised over $3,000, exceeding their fundraising goal by 50 percent.
