Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools (PC4HS) supports the upcoming ISSA Clean Standard for K-12 Schools, as described by ISSA and the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI).
According to PC4HS Founder and President, Rex Morrison: “As a Clean Standard committee member, I have seen this concept grow from a vision that I share to reality. It is my hope that through state mandate all schools will be held to this worthwhile, achievable leadership standard.”
Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools is a cleaning system that enables schools to meet the Clean Standard, using cost-effective labor practices, measuring outcomes using ATP and other hygiene assessment devices recommended by IEHA’s Integrated Cleaning and Measurement (ICM) program.
“We are proud of all the hard work that ISSA, CIRI, and other stakeholders have put into this standard, and we want to go on record stating that this standard will, by its very nature, be a major determining factor in helping to ensure healthier environments through better cleaning practices in schools.
“No student or staff member deserves to spend their educational years in a germ-ridden, chemically-polluted and dust-filled environment,” Morrison concludes. “The ISSA Clean Standard typifies the bedrock and foundation that Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools is built upon, and we will do whatever is possible to promote this standard, ensuring that as we roll out our program in schools across the country we assist schools in meeting this very important benchmark for cleaner, healthier indoor environments.”
