The Professional Cleaning Institute of Hawaii (PCIH) has announced that, for the first time, it is accepting professional enrollment from across the United States for persons seeking career development opportunities on beautiful Oahu.
“PCIH is dedicated to the advancement of cleaning professionals, preservation of the environment and global promotion of the profession through education,” said Brian Benz, founder of the institute. “We offer the ideal work and vacation destination on beautiful Oahu.”
PCIH provides up-to-date instruction in all disciplines of professional cleaning, housekeeping and management including helping students meet the criteria for IEHA’s Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) and Registered Executive Housekeeper (REH) designations.
The state-of-the-industry PCIH facility and library offers classes, workshops and seminars to meet the needs of industries ranging from hospitality to education, retail, commercial, health care and government.
The Institute offers tools and knowledge about cleaning for frontline management staff, through industry best practices and state-of-the-art training and certifications.
The goal is to raise standards throughout the industry while integrating high ethics, a caring culture and solid values into everyday work practices. Some of the goals for PCIH are:
• To build excellence and advance quality in professional cleaning;
• To develop a work force with high ethics and integrity in professional cleaning;
• To identify opportunities for the cleaning professional’s growth;
• To provide continuing educational opportunities for achieving excellence.
Classes will vary greatly in scope and size, and can be customized to the needs of the individual or company it services. There is an on-site computer lab, multiple classrooms, a mock hotel and hospital room, and a library and resource center for students.
Classes range from one-day seminars and workshops to the Certified Executive and Registered Executive Housekeeper Certification programs which last for approximately sixteen weeks. Course curricula include Process Cleaning for Healthy Schools (PC4HS) www.pf4hf.org training, IEHA www.ieha.org and other certification programs for frontline and management staff.
“PCIH is designed to offer specialized training opportunities focused on the latest research-driven and industry-tested methods,” said Benz. “PCIH aims to advance industry knowledge and standards while integrating solid values and building a community of confident learners who will apply their knowledge and in turn positively affect others through their work.”
