Kansas City, Missouri - October 28, 2015: Game Two of the World Series at Kauffman Stadium

The Kansas City Royals welcomed Reckitt, the makers of Lysol, to its Kauffman Stadium under a partnership that will introduce enhanced disinfection protocols at stadium for the 2021 season and beyond.

As the Royals organization welcomes fans back to the stadium, a top priority is establishing enhanced disinfection protocols that can help protect fans, players, and employees. To do this, the Royals will tap into Lysol’s expertise and innovation, which will be at the forefront of creating enhanced disinfection measures at the ballpark.

“There can be no shortcut to the disinfection and cleanliness at sporting stadiums,” said E. Yuri Hermida, executive vice president of North America Hygiene at Reckitt. “It’s the best way to increase fans’ comfort levels with returning to watch the game and so we’re delighted that the Royals have made this a high priority. We look forward to working with them to welcome back fans to The K.”

Reckitt will supply EPA-approved disinfection products, including those proven to be effective against SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) to use across areas where germs are most prevalent. Through this partnership, the Royals are putting their confidence in a science-backed, strategic approach designed with Lysol. This approach combines disinfection products with rigorously developed protocols that will offer additional reassurance to fans and staff. Dispensers with Lysol Disinfecting Wipes will also be made available around the ballpark for fans to use for protection from the spread of germs on surfaces.

“The health and safety of our players and fans is of utmost priority to us,” said the Royals' chief revenue and innovation officer, Sarah Tourville. “We are excited to partner with Lysol, as their expertise and array of disinfecting products will further strengthen our efforts to play baseball at Kauffman Stadium."
