ISSA, the worldwide cleaning and facility solutions industry association, announced registration is now open for the 2025 ISSA Clean Advocacy Summit, the premier Capitol Hill fly-in event for the cleaning and facilities solutions industry, March 31-April 1 in Washington, D.C. The 2025 ISSA Clean Advocacy Summit will be co-hosted with the support of the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI), International Franchise Association (IFA), Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), and INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry.
In 2024, the summit brought more than 120 attendees from 32 states, who visited 133 congressional offices on Capitol Hill to advance the legislative priorities for the industry. The 2025 summit will take place at the Royal Sonesta Washington, D.C. Capitol Hill, walking distance to the U.S. Capitol. Attendance will include industry leaders representing a cross section of the cleaning industry including manufacturers, distributors, commercial cleaning and restoration companies, residential cleaning companies, and franchises.
On the first day of this signature advocacy event, participants will get the “inside scoop” on the key public policy issues facing their business and industry, including labor and supply chain challenges, cleaning product regulations, promoting healthy workplaces, ending period poverty, and more. On the second day, participants will apply their new knowledge and skills by heading to Capitol Hill to meet with their congressional delegation to advance the industry.
“With a new Administration and Congress, growing governmental oversight of the cleaning industry, and an unpredictable economy, it’s imperative the cleaning and facility solutions industry make their voices heard in Washington, D.C., and share with lawmakers their firsthand accounts about why the industry and our businesses are essential to the nation’s health and economy,” said ISSA Director of Government Affairs John Nothdurft.
“BSCAI is pleased to support ISSA's Advocacy Summit. BSCAI focuses on the critical role that facility maintenance and contract cleaning companies play in delivering value to customers, providing healthy working environments, and contributing to the productivity of facility occupants in every industry. Making sure that the concerns of contract cleaners and our industry are represented with lawmakers is critical. Advocating for our members and industry is an area where BSCAI and ISSA can work together to ensure that our elected officials understand how their decisions impact our ability to provide critical services to customers,” said Bill Warnecki, CBSE, President of Servpro of Alexandria, BSCAI Vice-President, Co-Chair of the BSCAI Government Affairs Committee.
"IFA is pleased to support ISSA's Advocacy Summit. The role franchising plays in the cleaning and janitorial industry cannot be undervalued. Franchising offers entrepreneurs a pathway to independent business ownership through a proven model, support systems, and brand recognition, which helps them scale quickly and maintain consistent quality. It also creates opportunities for local job growth and ensures that businesses can meet the demand for professional cleaning services across various sectors," said Jeff Hanscom, IFA’s Vice President of State & Local Government Relations & Public Policy at IFA.
“INDA is delighted to again partner with ISSA to co-locate our Second Annual INDA Fly-In and Advocacy Summit at the annual Clean Advocacy Summit” stated Wes Fisher, Director of Government Affairs at INDA, “Last year over 20 INDA members joined ISSA’s programming and held sessions and congressional meetings specific to the nonwovens industry, including promoting the bipartisan WIPPES Act. As an association representing the manufacturers of many cleaning and personal care products, we look forward to building on our partnership with ISSA to make this the most successful Clean Advocacy Summit to date.”
“The IICRC is excited to be a co-host of the ISSA’s Clean Advocacy Summit in 2024. We hope to see IICRC registrants and certified firms in attendance and look forward to advocating alongside industry stakeholders in Washington, D.C.,” added IICRC Chairman and President Carey Vermeulen.
