Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP), a provider of commercial cleaning products, announced the Holiday Inn New Orleans Westbank as the winner of the RCP Executive Series Caring for the Community award. The award includes a full suite of the new RCP Executive Series cleaning products for the hotel and its partner charity, the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (LA/SPCA). RCP announced the winners today at the annual International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show.

Rubbermaid Commercial Products partnered with Hotel Management Magazine to present the Caring for the Community award in celebration of the launch of the Executive Series line of products, and to recognize hotels that are making a difference in their communities. RCP designed the series line after extensive interviews with hospitality groups identified a need for sleek products that are not only effective but also match the high-end look and feel that many hotel properties are achieving today.

“We know that a clean environment is a key element of a successful hotel, and the same is true for nonprofit organizations,” said Cory Wilkinson, director of marketing for RCP. “Our communities are better places because of business and nonprofit partnerships, like the one between the Holiday Inn Westbank and the LA/SPCA. We are so happy to provide these new cleaning solutions to help with their great work.”

Hotel properties applied online, and their peers and others in the industry voted on the five finalists. The Holiday Inn New Orleans Westbank was selected due to its ongoing efforts to support LA/SPCA.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team,” said Dustin Floyd, general manager of the Holiday Inn New Orleans Westbank. “So many of our staff have adopted pets from the LA/SPCA…we believe deeply in their mission and how important it is for all of us to give back. We were really competing against some big hotels from across the country, so we’re thrilled to have been voted the winner!”

Westbank staff members donate hotel linens for use at the LA/SPCA, groom rescued animals, help with socialization training for soon-to-be adopted pets, and host and attend a variety of events throughout the year that raise funds to cover the cost of providing care and basic medical services for thousands of homeless animals.

“We are so thankful for our wonderful partners at the Holiday Inn Westbank,” said Dean Howard, development director for the LA/SPCA. “Cleaning is absolutely key for us to keep the animals and our human visitors healthy, and a suite of professional-grade cleaning products will help us as we look to expand our mission.”
