District officials at Clarksville School District, Ark., have announced that roughly 20 district employees - ranging from janitors to assistant principals - will each be authorized to carry a nine millimeter handgun on school premises.

The district superintendent stresses that each staff member will have undergone proper training that is "as realistic as it gets," say reports. In fact, he is confident that these trained individuals could be effective in preventing a school shooting.

Training will be completed for each of the 20 employees in time for the start of school this fall.
