Servicon Systems Inc., provider of sustainable maintenance services for aerospace, military, commercial, public and institutional facilities, has named Laurie Sewell as President and Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Sewell already held the position of president of the company. Continuing to strengthen its executive team, the company has also promoted Stacey Wong to the position of Director of Sales, following her eight years of responsibility for handling all aspects of Servicon’s strategic accounts
Sewell’s and Wong’s new appointments are part of a leadership reorganization that has seen Servicon’s founder, Richard Mahdesian, become Chairman Emeritus. His son Michael Mahdesian has been named Chairman, taking up his father’s leadership responsibilities.
“We are very pleased with these appointments, and are extremely confident that Laurie will make an excellent CEO for Servicon,” said Chairman Michael Mahdesian. “For several years, she has demonstrated strong leadership qualities, shown great pride in our company’s work, and dedicated her unfailing energy to Servicon’s continuing improvement and growth.
“We’re also excited that Stacey will assume responsibility for growing our sales,” he added. “She has an outstanding record of directing Servicon’s client management program, and has done a great job of expanding the company’s presence in both existing and new markets throughout the region,” he concluded.
An industry veteran with years of experience, Sewell rose through the ranks at Servicon, at various times working in payroll, supplies, inventory control and distribution. “I’m ready to devote all of my energies to leading Servicon in a ‘smart growth’ strategy. We will grow because we’re a great company,” she said. “My passion is for Servicon to create the best practices in sustainability, and set the bar high for the entire industry,” she added.
Sewell envisions future acquisitions of service companies in targeted sectors, with a focus on the aerospace and commercial industries and high-tech companies with strict standards for clean rooms and other industry-specific environments. Servicon was a pioneer in completely sustainable “green cleaning.” Servicon’s Quality Assurance program was the first established with key performance indicators in the facilities maintenance industry. Today, the company has implemented a rigorous new certification program for its specialist employees that prioritizes health and safety, and establishes accountability with rewards for top performance.
Stacey Wong began her career at Servicon in June 2007, working on strategic account growth and developing the company’s sales processes, including customizing and managing client relations. Over the years, Stacy has developed outstanding relationships with major clients, as well as successfully reaching out to prospective clients. She represents Servicon at industry events and maintains the company’s active affiliations with BOMA, IREM, IFMA and LABC. Her professional leadership and community achievements earned Stacey a 40 Under 40 award in 2012 from Santa Clarita Business Journal.
