An opposing campaign hacked the website of the Stop the Mop campaign by Kaivac and inserted a video that interrupts users as they arrive on the site. Last month, Kaivac launched StoptheMop.com to inform the public about the inferior cleaning of mops and the existence of healthier, more effective floor care methods.

“Firstly, we want to assure everyone that Kaivac and the Stop the Mop campaign do not endorse the video or many of the ideas in it,” said Kaivac VP of Marketing, Tom Morrison. “Secondly, we want to reiterate our commitment to stopping the mop for the sake of public health. Even though a transition away from mops may cause discomfort and inconvenience to some, we still believe it to be the right choice for our buildings and our wellbeing as a society.”

Visitors to StoptheMop.com can still access the original content of the website after the video plays. Kaivac is optimistic that they will regain control of the website soon.
