The Facilities Group Hawaii (TFG Hawaii), a provider of commercial cleaning and building maintenance services in Hawaii, announces that John Doronio will be promoted to senior vice president and general manager starting in January.
With 15 years of experience in Hawaii, Doronio previously served as the company’s vice president of people and strategy. In 2020 he was hired as director of human resources under Kleenco Group, which merged in 2022 with Armstrong Building Maintenance under TFG Hawaii. During his tenure, his efforts have yielded significant growth in employee headcount, employee programs to help achieve company goals, and strategic hires to lead the business forward.
Doronio has nearly 25 years of leadership experience, previously serving in human resources roles at companies including ProService, American Savings Bank, Expedia Group, and Hoku Corporation.
Doronio holds an MBA with a concentration in human resource management from California State University, East Bay, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in biology from the University of Texas in San Antonio. He is a Senior Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resources Management.
“John’s combination of local human resources and operations experience in Hawaii, as well as his work within larger diversified mainland companies, make him uniquely qualified to lead TFG Hawaii into the future,” says Scott Paul, president of TFG Hawaii, who will continue as a local owner and advisor to the company.
TFG Hawaii is focused on enhancing services and improving operations and automated systems.
“I look forward to strengthening TFG Hawaii’s longstanding reputation as one of the state’s leading commercial cleaning and building maintenance services companies,” says Doronio. “With the completion of our 2022 merger, we have elevated our customer experience and expanded our service offerings.”
Founded in 1971 and 1972, respectively, Kleenco and Armstrong offered professional cleaning services throughout Hawaii for over 50 years. The companies merged all operations in 2022 and rebranded as The Facilities Group Hawaii under the umbrella of Tampa, Florida-based The Facilities Group (TFG), which services more than 27,000 properties throughout the U.S.
