Daycon, a jan/san distributor based in Upper Marlboro, Md., has announced the promotion of Howard Cohen to chief executive officer. Cohen is the third generation to lead the company. Cohen's grandfather, David A. Cohen established Daycon in 1942 and in 1968, Howard’s father, Robert “Bobby” N. Cohen took over running the business.

Cohen is a graduate of Boston University School of Management and attended Harvard Business School executive programs on finance and authentic leadership. He is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, as well as leading industry associations, including the Building Service Contractors Association International and the International Sanitary Supply Association.

Howard is married to Hanna Goodman. Together they have three children, daughters Samantha, 17 and Ryann 15; and a son, Cole,7.

Daycon is a supplier of cleaning supplies, hardware products, vendor managed Inventory, chemical manufacturing, sustainability consulting, as well as a provider of green/sustainable cleaning educational services to building service contractors, commercial building owners and managers, residential apartment communities, healthcare institutions and educational facilities.
