A phone with the Tik Tok app

Love it or hate it, the video-sharing social media service, TikTok, has become insanely popular throughout the world, including in the United States. The wild influence of the social media platform is now demonstrated by the fact that it's helped contribute to the recent success of little known hand sanitizer, reports Today.

Touchland Power Mist Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer went viral on TikTok a few months ago in a video that flaunts the product's sleek design. Like other hand sanitizers, Touchland Power Mist sold out in March as consumers rushed to buy products they thought might protect them against COVID-19. But the demand for this particular hand sanitizer became so significant that a 35,000 person wait list formed just to buy it. Today, the product is easier to come by.

At an ethyl alcohol content of 67 percent, Touchland Power Mist Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer exceeds Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for alochol-based hand sanitizer. The CDC places the cutoff at below 60 percent.

Touchland Power Mist is praised for it's smell, too, unlike other hand sanitizers.
